It takes a village to run a Scouting program, and part of that village are a variety of committees.  This page highlights many of the committees and the membership/leadership of them.

Program Committees

The Michigan Crossroads Council Venturing Officers Association is comprised of two committees, one for President Ford Division (West) and one for Great Lakes Division (East).  VOA meetings monthly to plan events for Venturing-aged youth.  [READ MORE]

The Michigan Crossroads Council High Adventure Committee is dedicated to promoting high-adventure programs in all of our Districts.
Comprised of volunteer Scouters who work through our District high-adventure coordinators. [READ MORE]

The Michigan Crossroads Council Training Committee helps plan and run the various council and district level training opportunities.  This includes everything from BALOO/IOLS, Position specific, to Wood Badge and NYLT. [READ MORE]

The International Scouting Committee of the Michigan Crossroads Council works to plan and provide international events and activities as well as share information about International Scouting opportunities. [READ MORE]

The Council Advancement and Recognition committees  are responsible for implementing and facilitating advancement and processing most special awards and recognition. [READ MORE]

The Michigan Crossroads Council Special Needs Committee works to ensure that all youth have the opportunity to thrive in our Scouting programs. [READ MORE]

Camping Committees

The Aquatics Committee has overall responsibility for the Michigan Crossroads Council’s aquatics activities in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring. Within the local council organization, the aquatics committee reports to the Vice President of Outdoor Adventures. [READ MORE]

Project COPE is an exciting outdoor activity designed to meet the needs of youth who seek greater challenges to their physical and mental abilities. What is C.O.P.E.? C.O.P.E. is an acronym for Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience. The COPE and Climbing Committee oversees all climbing, bouldering and COPE programs within the council.

The purpose of the Target and Range Sports Committee is to manage and provide resources to the council, the camping committee, and the council camps for all activities involving range sports whether during summer camps or during year-round opportunities.

Outdoor ethics is deeply ingrained in the Scouting America program. No place is this more important than in the outdoors. Scouting and Venturing have a long, proud tradition of conservation service to the nation. Building upon this foundation, the various programs have deep roots in helping to leave our world better than we found it.

The council conservation committee provides the council with all available expertise regarding matters of ecology, conservation, and resource management to guide policy making and operational and operational decisions regarding conservation management.

The Michigan Crossroads Council Scouts BSA Camping Committee is comprised of members throughout our council. The mission of this committee is to ensure that every Scout has exciting and memorable outdoor adventures.

The Michigan Crossroads Council Cub Scout Camping Committee is comprised of members throughout our council. Our mission is to ensure that every Cub Scout and their family has memorable outdoor adventures experiences.

The Michigan Crossroads Council Campmaster Committee is comprised of members throughout our council that help work with units that visit and spend time at our camps.

The Michigan Crossroads Council Great Lakes Sailing Adventure committee ensures that our council has a premier High Adventure option for Scouts and adults that want to experience sailing on the Great Lakes. [READ MORE]

The Michigan Crossroads Council Camp Promotion committee works to spread the word about the amazing camps and experiences to be had at them.  The committee works to encourage units and attend our summer camp options at the six MCC camps.

Membership Committees

The Sea Scouting Committee is comprised of members throughout our council who have knowledge and passion for the Sea Scouting program.

The Michigan Crossroads Council Catholic Committee works with units and Scouts associated with the Catholic church.  Many units are chartered to Catholic churches, and all Catholic members are encouraged to work on the Catholic Religious emblems.
