Dominic and Brenda Goyette

Michigan Crossroads Council BSA has been working with Dominic and Brenda Goyette to help ensure that critical Scout programs in the Flint area will be a part of their philanthropic legacy.

Dominic shared, “We are proud to support the local Scouts in Genesee, Shiawassee, and Lapeer counties and particularly the Scouts in the City of Flint. We believe the Boy Scouts have a very positive influence on young people in our community. The mission of Scouting is aligned with our values to appreciate the outdoors, foster good citizenship, and build character.

When recently asked to share feedback on the Urban Scouting Program, Principal, Vice Principal and Dean of Students from Greater Heights Academy shared, “Over the last three years, our scholars have had an opportunity to experience character building exercises and skills that they normally would not have available to them. Greater Heights Academy has strived to find partners that value our code of ethics and excellence in academics. The partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, Mr. Greg Cooley, and Ms. Samantha Knop has established an uplifting experience for our scholars, our school’s culture, and climate and throughout the community. Their leadership has only proven to our staff and scholars that they only expect the highest standards of excellence.”

Vic Pooler, Major Gifts Officer for the Michigan Crossroads Council noted, “We cannot thank Dom and Brenda and Goyette Mechanical enough. The program offers young people the opportunity to experience life changing programs they won’t get anywhere else. Our volunteers and leaders who lead these programs share stories that warm your heart. The team we have assembled will use the Goyette Mechanical gift as the launch to create a fund large enough to sustain and support considerable growth for years to come!
