We are very excited to welcome Owner of Sperry’s Movie House and CityFlatsHotel, Chuck Reid as our guest speaker! We believe that Scouting should be available and affordable for all youth. An investment in Scouting is an investment in the future. Please help us to continue to serve the youth of our community by supporting Scouting in St. Clair and Sanilac Counties.

With Guest Speaker:

Chuck Reid
Owner of Sperry’s Movie House and CityFlatsHotel

Chuck Reid has had a diverse and exciting career to-date. He began with the idea of becoming a teacher, however, his entrepreneurial spirit soon took him from the classroom to sales.

Reid worked his way to upper management in the quick-service restaurant industry. Utilizing his extensive experience, Reid, along with his partners, started Base Design. Base Design, a leader in the industry, currently holds three patents and has licensed intellectual property to McDonald’s and Franke, Inc. among others.

Reid soon acquired Charter House, small-scale manufacturer of quick-service restaurant seating, and rebranded as CHi. Within six years, CHi rocketed to the forefront of the industry with its innovative design, efficient manufacturing and superior product, and is recognized as a world leader.

In 2007, CityFlats opened in Holland, Michigan, soon followed by Grand Rapids and now Port Huron. CityFlats is the first LEED Gold Certified Hotel in the Midwest. With amenities such as unique restaurants, bars, and upscale banquet facilities, CityFlats has been recognized for the earth-friendly design as well as being featured in numerous national publications.

Reid purchased Greystone Seating (now First Class Seating) with an eye to expand into a new market of luxury cinema seating. The company’s design is in cinemas throughout the United States, including Sperry’s Moviehouse in Port Huron.

For his entrepreneurial drive and innovative vision, Reid has been recognized by several organizations, with the highlight as being honored at an exclusive White House ceremony, where President Barack Obama personally recognized Reid’s achievements.
