Every summer, a number of countries around the world hold National Jamborees and there are International Jamborees In different parts of the United Kingdom.. All of them welcome international participants, especially contingents from the USA. Jamboree organizers will usually be able to arrange host troops that will provide home stays for your contingent and lend you group camping equipment. Participating in a jamboree in another country can provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for your Scouts and Venturers.
There are links below to upcoming jamborees in other countries. Those with “Rover” or “Moot” in the name are typically for the age group that includes older Venturers and young leaders.
The top photo shows a contingent of Michigan Venturers who were the largest BSA contingent at the 2005 Eurojam jamboree in England. In the lower photo, one of those Venturers autographs the neckerchief of a Scout from another country. Michigan contingents have been the only BSA representatives at the 2009 Blue Summer National Jamboree in Denmark and the 2010 Ursprung Austrian Jubilee Jamboree. This could be you!
In addition to jamborees, there are many Scout centers throughout Europe. Some of these offer dormitory facilities and food service so you don’t need to bring tents or cooking equipment. There are links to European Scout Centers below the links to jamborees.
