Nottawa Trails welcomes new District Chair – Tom Zavitz

Thomas E. Zavitz has assumed the role of District Chair – Nottawa Trails District.    He is the recently retired Associate Dean for Administration and Finance for the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.   Tom is a lifelong Scouter, with over 50 years of Scouting experience as a Scout and a leader.   Over the years Tom has held many positions at the unit, district and council levels.   He is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award, District Award of Merit, Scouters Training Award, Scouters Key, Commissioner Arrowhead, and the Kalamazoo Diocese Catholic Scouting Bronze Pelican Award.    Tom also completed Woodbadge training and was a Woodbadge Course Senior Patrol Leader.   He is also a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.  Tom and his wife Mary reside in Battle Creek, Michigan and have two adult children, one of which is an Eagle Scout, and two grandchildren.
